Dear Patrons:

Library board members have worked the past 3 or 4 years to provide an attractive, convenient and safe building for all adults, teens and children of the community.

The building we currently occupy is no longer structurally viable. Even if we spent $250,000 dollars on it, it would not last long enough to warrant the cost. We then looked into building a new building on another location but we found that the cost exceeds what we feel this community can afford.

We are preparing to make an offer on the Trading Post, 612 Ave. D just north of Lucy’s Café on Hwy. 317. This building is of solid construction, has a new roof, new wiring, new air-conditioning and plumbing. It is like a new building; we would not expect costly repair for a number of years.

We need donations or a commitment from community members to help secure this property for the library. Any and all donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated by the board. You might consider making a pledge of $1,000 over a 5 year period. This pledge could be paid throughout the year as your budget allows. One- time donations or smaller donations are appreciated. All donations are tax deductible.

We ask that all donations for this Capital Campaign be made to the Waco Foundation, our financial manager. Donations will go to Moody Community Library Capital Projects Fund; Waco Foundation; 1227 N. Valley Mills Dr., Ste 235; Waco, TX 76710.

Current board members listed in the letterhead will be happy to discuss our plans.

Sincerely,

Jane E. Gates, Fundraising chairman

Committee Members: Gary Martel, Cora Lee Jones, Martha Deeringer, Shirley Vybrial, Anne Grimmett, Ellie Fowler
